Configuring virtual applications and directories

Some websites might require virtual applications or directories be added as part of the website configuration. Azure Websites supports these configuration requirements. Configuring a virtual application or directory for an Azure website requires the following settings:

Virtual Directory The path that users will use to access the directory or application.
 Physical Path (relative to site) The path to the physical directory or application.
 Application If selected, the virtual directory is configured as a web application. If the checkbox is clear, it will be a virtual directory.

Configuring virtual applications and directories using the management portal

In the management portal, you can add virtual applications and directories by opening the Site Settings blade for your website. Scroll down towards the bottom of the blade until you ind the Virtual Applications and Directories section,
